So, I’m going to give you a little bit about me. Perhaps this will help you understand why I say the things I say, perhaps not.
I’m a bit of a book-worm, but I don’t mind. I write a ton of stuff (most of which doesn’t get finish
), including short stories, historical fiction, some sci-fi, some fantasy, even haikus. I believe in Jesus Christ, His perfect life, perfect death, and perfect resurrection. I believe that the purpose of life is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. I listen to R.C. Sproul and I love learning about ancient Greek and Roman cultures.
I’m a zealously fiery patriot of the true American idea. I believe that freedom and democracy is worth fighting for, and I think that every single terrorist out there deserves what’s comin’ to ‘em. I’m joining the Army when I graduate college, and I can’t wait. I absolutely admire and adore the men and women who serve in the military/police force across the country. They’re willing to fight and die for my freedom, it’s the least I can do to support them. I can’t stand most politicians, especially Democrats (but not excluding Republicans). I think that if they get paid to do what they do, then our soldiers should get paid triple.
Yeah, that’s a little bit about me.
We have contacted each other before. I read some of the comments that you got back from those who are supposedly Christian, but are Catholic (not to seem mean, but I am not so sure they are Christian and Catholic). These two things are entirely different. My usual tactic when Catholics point out they go all the way back to the Apostles is to challenge them on the grounds of Historicity. There is no way that any church can claim to go back to the apostles? There is a large piece of history of the church missing between 100 to 350 A.D. You would need to access primary evidence in that time frame to claim a link. Now I am a Reformed Southern Baptist as well, the Southern Baptists came out of what is called the Landmark Baptist tradition and they also claim to have come from the apostles. Long story here, but to shorten it they to lack a way of proving that link. Having said that, it is more likely that the origional church was Baptist then to have it Catholic. There is some second level history of the early church, they were not able to live in peace, written not by those who were baptists, but by their enemies. There are several good books out covering this era, but watch out they are landmark. One of them is by Dr. Jarrold I believe, but cannot remember the exact title of the book. The groups he mentioned did exist, but they were also held to some odd unaccepted ideas. You do not have to post this note, I was unable to find an email.
